Blue Collar African Safaris

We have arranged with a first-class safari operator in South Africa to offer a "Blue Collar Safari" for working people like us. Most of us can't take off for a 14- or 21-day safari, what with job, family, and civic obligations, so we are offering a short plains game hunt which would require that you only miss a week's work! The total cost of this adventure will be less than you would pay for an elk hunt out West.

The country of South Africa is safe, clean, and secure. It is also easy to get there. Your flight to Johannesburg will be met by your professional hunter, and from then on, hunters (and non-hunting companions) are taken with the hospitable people, magnificent scenery, and unbelievably abundant game. You may bring your favorite weapon, or a first-rate loaner with quality optics can be provided. (Any caliber from 30-06 to .338 with good optics is perfect for plains game.) Laundry service is provided, so you merely need to pack lightly.

Over 16 species of plains game are available in excellent quality and quantity on several concessions open to us, as well as dangerous game, if desired. We do not offer "package hunts" wherein you are limited to only a few species of someone else's choosing. This is real hunting on thousands of hectares, and you just don't know what game (or interesting non-game) you will see next. You are free to take (0r pass on) any game you see, with the advice on trophy potential by your professional hunter. In planning for your hunt, we will provide trophy information on our concessions. This will help you decide on the animals you would like to take, but the decision is yours throughout your hunt.

To assist you in budgeting for the hunt, the daily fee is all-inclusive, meaning NO hidden costs. This includes transport to and from the concessions, accommodations, delicious meals, beverages in moderation, professional hunter services, and trophy preparation in the field. We arrange for excellent taxidermy services in South Africa, or shipment to the States to your taxidermist. The only additional funds you will need will be trophy fees (which can be paid in travelers checks), and a few South African rand for tips to trackers and camp staff and souvenirs for family and friends. You can change travelers checks to South African rand at the airport upon your arrival and your P.H. will assist you with that, if you desire.

I guarantee that you will have a trip of a lifetime. I have had the good fortune to hunt throughout the eastern and western U.S., Canada, Alaska, and New Zealand, and believe me when I say that there is nowhere like Africa. The only trouble about an African hunt is that it is virtually impossible to do it just once!
