Our Beginning

I've spent the last 40+ years hunting and fishing everywhere in the world that my limited funds would take me. I've had some great trips, and I've had some I'd like to forget. Most of the time, when things didn't go as advertised, it was because I hadn't done my homework. When I retired as District Attorney in our area and started this enterprise, I determined to "do the homework" for the hunters, fishermen, and adventure travelers who gave me a call. Since I like to hunt, fish, and travel to exotic places too, I also determined to go with them, whenever possible.

Until I've investigated a hunting, fishing, or adventure destination, made the trip, interviewed the outfitters, seen the way they treat their clients, seen the countryside, observed the game, slept in the beds, and eaten the food, I'm not going to recommend it. My goal is always to see that our travelers, no matter how long (or how short) the time they're with us, and how much (or how little) money they're spending, they get more than their money's worth.

Whether it's Costa Rica for sailfish in March, the Roanoke River for rockfish in April, Africa for plains game in July, Pennsylvania for monster whitetails in October, or Texas for whitetails and exotics in November, you can rest assured that the adventure will be everything you could wish for. Give me a call.

Blue Collar African Safaris

We have arranged with a first-class safari operator in South Africa to offer a "Blue Collar Safari" for working people like us. Most of us can't take off for a 14- or 21-day safari, what with job, family, and civic obligations, so we are offering a short plains game hunt which would require that you only miss a week's work! The total cost of this adventure will be less than you would pay for an elk hunt out West.

The country of South Africa is safe, clean, and secure. It is also easy to get there. Your flight to Johannesburg will be met by your professional hunter, and from then on, hunters (and non-hunting companions) are taken with the hospitable people, magnificent scenery, and unbelievably abundant game. You may bring your favorite weapon, or a first-rate loaner with quality optics can be provided. (Any caliber from 30-06 to .338 with good optics is perfect for plains game.) Laundry service is provided, so you merely need to pack lightly.

Over 16 species of plains game are available in excellent quality and quantity on several concessions open to us, as well as dangerous game, if desired. We do not offer "package hunts" wherein you are limited to only a few species of someone else's choosing. This is real hunting on thousands of hectares, and you just don't know what game (or interesting non-game) you will see next. You are free to take (0r pass on) any game you see, with the advice on trophy potential by your professional hunter. In planning for your hunt, we will provide trophy information on our concessions. This will help you decide on the animals you would like to take, but the decision is yours throughout your hunt.

To assist you in budgeting for the hunt, the daily fee is all-inclusive, meaning NO hidden costs. This includes transport to and from the concessions, accommodations, delicious meals, beverages in moderation, professional hunter services, and trophy preparation in the field. We arrange for excellent taxidermy services in South Africa, or shipment to the States to your taxidermist. The only additional funds you will need will be trophy fees (which can be paid in travelers checks), and a few South African rand for tips to trackers and camp staff and souvenirs for family and friends. You can change travelers checks to South African rand at the airport upon your arrival and your P.H. will assist you with that, if you desire.

I guarantee that you will have a trip of a lifetime. I have had the good fortune to hunt throughout the eastern and western U.S., Canada, Alaska, and New Zealand, and believe me when I say that there is nowhere like Africa. The only trouble about an African hunt is that it is virtually impossible to do it just once!

North Carolina Striper Fishing

Arguably, the best striped bass fishing in the world in April and May. Three weeks only!

We offer trips with native-born guides with decades of experience on the Roanoke River in Eastern North Carolina. Only 1.5 hours from Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina and Richmond, Virginia. Just off Interstate 95.

Our live-bait fishing fishing trips are great for veterans, beginners, and youngsters.

There is a possession limit in weeks one and two, for those wishing to cook what they catch. Week three is only catch and release.

We fish the last two weeks of April and the first week of May. We operate G-3 aluminum riverboats, all equipped with first-class tackle. There is a maximum of two fishermen per boat. We provide all tackle, bait, light snacks, and sodas. A sack lunch is provided on all full-day trips.

Fishermen should bring only rain gear, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, and a jacket. We also require younger clients to bring an approved and properly fitted life jacket (PFD).

One-day and three-day North Carolina inland fishing licenses are available online and at local Wal-Mart and sporting goods stores. We also have an arrangement with a local motel, with all amenities, for a special Bucks Unlimited rate.

Sailfishing in Costa Rica

Enjoy phenomenal billfishing just off the Pacific coast of Quepos, Costa Rica, often within sight of your marina. No more stomach-churning 6-hour rides to the Gulfstream!

There are daily flights to Quepos, or you may rent a car in the capital, San Jose, and drive through the Cost Rican countryside. When you get to this quaint fishing village, you have arrived at the Sailfish Capital of the World!

We have two boats, a 36-foot and a 32-foot sport fisherman, both with excellent crews and tackle. You will not experience better service, or better billfishing, anywhere!

Stay in Captain Tony's beautiful home (yours exclusively during your stay), or in one of the hotels and inns in Quepos. Maid service is provided if requested, and if you catch mahi mahi on the way in, she will cook it for you. Stay a few extra days and enjoy the rainforest.

Pennsylvania Monster Whitetail Hunt

We have access to a private preserve in western Pennsylvania if you are after a monster whitetail, and your time is limited. The hunt is conducted in mountainous hills and hollows, but it is not strenuous, and we can tailor your hunt to suit your schedule, your fitness level, and your hunting methods.

We offer hunts with all legal weapons, including bow, muzzleloader, shotgun, and rifle, but your regular center fire deer rifle is best.

You are housed in a beautiful mountaintop lodge with all the amenities, and you eat like a king.

Skinning and trophy preparation is provided, and taxidermy can be arranged if you desire.

We have booked a week in October, but hunts are available outside the regular Pennsylvania deer season. No state license or big game stamp is required on this hunt. Contact us for details and pricing.

Texas Two-Step (Hunting and Fishing)

We have several spreads in the Hill Country of Texas with trophy-class whitetails and exotics, including fallow, sika, and axis deer; hogs; scimitar-horned oryx; blackbuck; and red sheep, to name a few. The hunting is easy, the company is good, and the Hill Country scenery is spectacular. This is a hunt for the hunter who is short on time, but wants a great hunting experience without "roughing it".

We stay in a first-class hotel in Kerrville, eat delicious meals, and sleep in a comfortable bed every night. (Big-game hunting doesn't have to be like work!) Nearest airport is San Antonio, car rental is convenient, and airport pickup can be arranged. There is first-class taxidermy available, or shipment to your taxidermist is no problem.

Combine your hunt with a side-trip to the Texas Coast for BIG redfish. You stalk them in the marsh with great results. Our guides are native-born Texans who can put you on lots of reds.
